Omega-3 which is found in most marine creatures has been proven to help fight the modern deadly disease called ‘cancer’. Cancer is a class of diseases in which a cell or a group of cells display uncontrolled growth, invasion (intrusion and destruction of adjacent tissues and sometimes metastatis or the spreading to other locations via blood. This deadly diseases has been fought and being fought by numerous individuals most of which fail and die. Indeed, prevention is better than cure. When my doctor told us that I had cancer, he being a surgeon told us that the choice was a prostatectomy. Now you most likely know already, the side affects to that are not a lot fun. They decided early on that this was not the route they desired to take. There had to be better options. As it turns out there’s plenty of. I have listed most of them here, but check out our net site for am much more through view of each.

Prostatectomy- This of work is the surgical removal of the prostate. It’s been done a plenty of years, but has side affects which include impotence & incontinence.

Outside Beam Radiation - This has a quantity of the same side affects as the prostatectomy, but since it is outside, there is no surgical procedure. It is time consuming since you go to the hospital every day for 6 -8 weeks

Brachytherapy – This is also radiation, but it is done by implanting radioactive seeds in to the prostate. (This is what I selected). It does need being under anesthesia for some time, but you go home after recovery.

Waiting & Watching – In some cases with a low gleason score, the cancer can be watched closely, together with your PSA being monitored. The prostate cancer is often a slow growing cancer, so this is an option is some cases.

There are more options than I have listed here. Check the net site for more, & naturally, DO THE RESEARCH! The bottom line is, don’t trust that your doctor is giving you the only treatment option. Receive a second or third opinion if necessary. Check a quantity of the choice treatment options, talk to mate & someone else you can.

Prostate cancer is the most common male cancer in the U.S. Only lung cancer causes more cancer deaths in American men. The lifetime probability of developing prostate cancer is about 16%. Each year, about 187,000 men in the United States are diagnosed with prostate cancer, and about 29,000 die from the disease. The prostate is a component of the male reproductive organ that facilitate make and store seminal fluid. In adult men, a typical prostate is about three centimeters long and weighs about twenty grams.It is located in the pelvis, under the urinary bladder and in front of the rectum.

The prostate surrounds component of the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder during urination and semen during ejaculation. Because of its place, prostate diseases often affect urination, ejaculation, and rarely defecation.

The prostate have many small glands which make about twenty percent of the fluid constituting semen.In prostate cancer, the cells of these prostate glands mutate into cancer cells. The prostate glands need male hormones, known as androgens, to work properly. Androgens include testosterone, which is made in the testes; dehydroepiandrosterone, made in the adrenal glands; and dihydrotestosterone, which is converted from testosterone within the prostate itself. Prostatitis

Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland, in men and a benign (non life threatening) condition. Prostatitis is not prostate cancer. It is caused by inflammation (swelling) of the prostate. It can cause discomfort deep inside the pelvis – all the time or when passing urine or with ejaculation.

Prostatitis can be painful and can spread to other areas of the pelvis. If caused by an infection it may be treated with antibiotics.A prostatitis diagnosis is assigned at 8% of all urologist and 1% of all primary care physician visits in the United States

Treatment is specific to each case and some types of prostatitis can be harder to treat, especially if symptoms have been ignored for some time.
