Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland, in men and a benign (non life threatening) condition. Prostatitis is not prostate cancer. It is caused by inflammation (swelling) of the prostate. It can cause discomfort deep inside the pelvis – all the time or when passing urine or with ejaculation.
