Diaper Bag Checklist -The Must Have Items You Need to Pack In Your Diaper Bag
15 Jun
Having everything you need in a diaper bag can be one of them. Funny how we remember all the things we really need only after we have forgotten to pack them.
1. Diapers
2. A package of wipes
3. Diaper cream
4. A changing pad
5. Snacks for yourself if you’ll be out for a while
6. Two spare onesies
7. A spare pacifier or two
8. One or two spare outfits
9. An extra pair of socks
10. An extra shirt for mom (things happen)
11. Hand sanitizer
12. Sealable plastic baggie (They are great for storing dirty clothes, bibs or even dirty diapers if you find yourself somewhere without a trash receptacle.)
13. Bottles and formula/Sippy cup or juice box
14. Ice pack in the event you will be out of the house for an extended period of timeIf you use pre-made formula it is always good to have some powdered formula on hand. Powdered formula is not as susceptible to spoiling and is great to have on hand in case of an emergency.
15. Bottled water (for powdered formula)
If your nursing you may want to bring a mini pump and nursing pads with you.
16. Snacks/jar of food for baby (don’t forget the spoon!)
17. 2-3 bibs
18. Small toy, stuffed animal or book
19. A blanket
20. Sanitizing wipes
21. A tube of diaper rash cream
22. Burping clothes
23. Any medication your baby is taking and a bottle of children’s Tylenol or Motrin
24. Baby sun block
25. Your health insurance card
26. A card with your pediatrician’s phone number
Sure it seems like a lot, but no one ever said life with baby would be simple. Once you have your bag packed you will only need to replace perishables, or put in new clothing items when those in the bag become dirty. Print this list out and keep it on your fridge for easy reference. If things seem a little overwhelming now, just remember diaper bags are replaced with backpacks soon enough.
