Do you feel a sexual attraction for women from Ruben’s paintings? Or do you prefer those anorexic girls from medium age canvas and walls so often present during fashion shows in our times? The ideal of what’s considered “beauty” changes, nobody doubts that. Bigger breasts, bigger lips, and bigger eyes – these features are obvious today. And tomorrow? What will be the ideal of tomorrow’s beauty?
Nobody knows, but let’s suppose that what men will adore will be about les of a form itself and more about potential forms, in other words, what one may transform his body into. Not “what you are” but “what can you do with your body”. If this supposition is correct, the price of a flexible, well-stretched body (on the sexual attractiveness market) will go up, whereas the price of tense, mechanical baby dolls will fall… Pilates machines will be a must in everyone’s home gym studio. On the other hand, we can easily imagine a totally different situation.
Not “how far can you bend yourself” but “how long can you endure”. Not the position itself, but the length of sexual intercourse can be regarded as the most important. In this situation it would be wiser to buy one of the ellipticals from the internet stores instead of a cadillac (common name of a pilates machine). Whatever will happen in the future: we live now. I don’t know to what degree you are obsessed with your body. In my case, I’m obsessed enough to go for a walk once a week and make love anytime it’s possible.
As far as the rest is concerned, I don’t have time for it. I prefer doing nothing, sitting and watching clouds. Running every day to strengthen your heart muscle? The oldest people living today, like monks from Thai Buddhist monasteries for instance, didn’t run every day. They didn’t run at all probably. They sit, watch clouds, walk from time to time. Sport as a way to longevity? Or sport as a way to waste time and money, to be “active”. Why do we rate sports so highly? Because we believe that movement, any kind of movement is better than stillness. Our common religion is called “action”.
